To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended to mount the sensor on a north-facing wall or in a well-shaded location, as direct sunlight will cause the temperature to read high. Mounting the sensor vertically, 6 to 18 inches below eaves or under a deck rail, is preferred to allow any moisture to drain.

The maximum wireless transmission range to the weather station is over 330 feet (100 meters) in open air, not including walls or floors.
